Twin Lakes Outfitters
Abamasagi Lake, Ontario — Near Nakina
Based on available reviews, Twin Lakes Outfitters earns strong praise from guests, with reviewers expressing genuine satisfaction and indicating they would return. Chad and Dawn, who appear to run the operation, are specifically called out by name as attentive and easy to work with. The outfitter seems to appeal to both first-time fly-in guests and those already familiar with remote Canadian fishing, and the overall tone from reviewers is enthusiastic.
Guests consistently highlight the quality of the cabins, describing them as exceeding expectations. The float plane experience through partner operator Nakina Air is mentioned as a memorable highlight in itself. Staff responsiveness stands out strongly — in one noted example, Chad went out of his way to arrange a tire repair for a guest stranded with a flat on a remote logging road, having a replacement ready upon the guest's return from the lake. Fishing at the outpost lakes (Ankcorn and Abby are both mentioned) produced solid pike action described as near-constant, with walleye fishing available as well, though results there were more variable and described as hit-or-miss depending on conditions.
There are no recurring complaints in the available reviews. The one practical note worth flagging is the road route to the outfitter — at least one guest encountered rough logging roads by following GPS directions, and it is suggested that first-time visitors ask Chad about the preferred alternate route to avoid potential tire or vehicle damage. Guests who want guaranteed, consistent walleye fishing should factor in that results on smaller lakes can vary. Overall, this destination appears best suited for anglers looking for a remote fly-in experience with strong pike fishing, first-timers who want a well-supported introduction to outpost camping, and pairs or small groups — such as fathers and sons — seeking a rugged but comfortable wilderness trip.
