Summarized Review Highlights
Twin Falls Lodge on Saskatchewan's Churchill River has an overwhelmingly positive reputation across dozens of guest reviews, with virtually every reviewer awarding the highest possible rating. The lodge sits between two sets of waterfalls in a remote stretch of the Churchill River, accessible by float plane from La Ronge or, for some guests, by boat. Reviewers consistently describe the setting as one of the most scenic in the province, and many guests return year after year, with several noting it has become an annual tradition for their families or friend groups. The word that comes up most often is "family" — not as a marketing phrase, but as a description of how staff treat guests. Multiple reviewers mention feeling like they were staying with old friends rather than at a commercial lodge.
What guests praise most consistently falls into four areas. First, the food: the lodge kitchen, associated over the years with cooks Diane and chef Evan, draws repeated superlatives — shore lunches of fresh-caught walleye with chips and beans, elaborate multi-course dinners, homemade pies, and appetizers before the evening meal are all mentioned frequently. Second, the guides: named guides like Barry, Willie, Willy, Ron, Robin, Rodney, and others are described as local experts who grew up on the water and know the islands and channels intimately. Several guests credit specific guides with helping less experienced anglers get on fish quickly and with going out of their way to accommodate guests with mobility challenges. Third, the fishing itself: walleye and northern pike dominate, with guests routinely catching large numbers of fish and several reporting Master Angler-qualifying catches including pike over 38–40 inches and walleye over 23 inches. Fourth, the hospitality of lodge managers past and present — Randy and Lorraine, Ed, and Laura are all mentioned warmly, and small touches like coffee delivered to cabin doors each morning are called out repeatedly. The cabins are described as modern, clean, and comfortable, with private bathrooms, and the main lodge has Wi-Fi and a big-screen TV.
Honest complaints in the reviews are essentially absent — not a single reviewer raised a serious recurring concern. One reviewer noted that forest fire smoke is a possibility in Northern Saskatchewan during summer, framing it as a regional reality rather than a lodge-specific issue, and one canoeist gave four stars instead of five with no specific criticism beyond the lodge being primarily geared toward fishing guests. Several reviews mention that "fly-in" is advertised but a boat-in option also exists, which is worth confirming when booking. Twin Falls Lodge appears best suited for dedicated walleye and northern pike anglers — including those chasing Master Angler fish — whether travelling as a group of buddies, with family including children, or across generations (multiple reviews involve grandparents, fathers and sons, and guests with mobility limitations who were well accommodated). The lodge also has a demonstrated record of welcoming canoe trippers passing through the Churchill River corridor, offering cold drinks, meals, cabin stays, and genuine hospitality to paddlers who stop in, making it a worthwhile note for anyone planning that route.

Twin Falls Lodge- A Piece of Paradise In Northern Saskatchewan
We had a marvellous time at the Lodge. The food, the scenery and service was absolutely outstanding. The friendly staff and guides went the extra mile to ensure we were totally pleased with our stay. And the fishing was great too. If you're looking for a relaxing and pampered stay in a wilderness setting, look no further than Twin Falls Lodge. Guaranteed you won't be disappointed! Insider tip: Be prepared for the possibility of forest fire smoke. Seems like the new reality for Northern Saskatchewan.

Amazing!
Twin Falls Lodge is an outstanding trip. The fishing, rooms, meals and service are 5 star in our opinion! We have been there twice and will be returning again this year. We have said we plan to make this an annual event. The peacefulness and beauty is beyond compare. The equipment is top notch and the guides know the waters like the back of their hand. We would strongly encourage anyone who is thinking about booking a trip to do it!!

A little patch of heaven
Wow! By far one of the best meals I've had since arriving in Canada! Fresh beautiful and local ingredients cooked with real love- and it shows. The location is stunning and the lodge beautiful. I didn't stay here but visited as part of a tour group for dinner and drinks on the terrace. This is really a little slice of heaven!

Best Kept Secret.
This would be a sixth visit to the best kept secret amongst fishing lodges in Saskatchewan. We were introduced to the lodge by very close friends and have made it an annual summer trip for the past few years. Everything is above and beyond at Twin Falls, fly in, arrival, accommodation, food is exceptional thanks to chef Evan, guides are local and know the myriad of islands/water that this part of the Churchill River provides. The traditional shore lunch is as it should be fresh caught pickerel, chips, and beans all put up by your guides who are extremely nice fellows. The lodge is run by manager Laura who is the most capable manager and is also housekeeper, waitress, bar lady and just a friendly face. The scenery is spectacular being between Robertson Falls and Twin Falls on the Churchill River and when you head out to fish you are all alone on the waters. You rarely see another person fishing during you whole day and if you do it's another guest of Twin Falls. A most enjoyable annual adventure and one that my family looks forward to each year. Cheers

Back again.
We've had the pleasure of visiting Twin Falls Lodge a number of times over the last few years and the lodge and ambience keeps getting better. The cabins are great, 4 single beds in our cabin, full bathroom and sitting area make it homey. The food is quite splendid chef Evan is a real bonus for the weary fisherman with appetizers at 5 pm and a full meal at 6 pm. Deserts are as good as any well heeled restaurant in any big city. The guides are great, knowledgeable and know the area of islands and waters like the back of their hand. Born in the area they bring an in-depth education to the visitors from the outside. The fishing is what brings us there and it's quite incredible from the first moment to the last. Under the management of Laura Hale the lodge is really becoming an annual destination for our family. Thanks R.B Green. Room tip: The separate cabins are great and face the water.

Family Fishing Trip.
It was with great pleasure that I arranged to take my son and my grandson to northern Saskatchewan and visit Twin Falls Lodge, Churchill River. While I had visited a few times before it was the first time for the boys. It was to be a memorable event, first a float plane trip out of La Ronge, Sask to the lodge, a 30-40 min flight. Staff met the plane and lodge manager Randy and his lovely wife introduced us to the lodge premises and our cabin for the stay. A small luncheon prepared by chef Evan was our kick off for the afternoon. Our guide Willie took us out and we commenced to fish with grandson catching a 18" walleye on his first cast. We caught and released many walleye and northern pike over the next 3 days with my grandson landing bigger and bigger fish each successive day. He finally capped off his trip with a 38" northern pike caught by himself and netted by Willie. It was a splendid adventure, the setting of the lodge, the people there and the great fishing made it a wonderful memory for grandpa! We have already talked about a return next year!

Keep coming back
Was lucky enough to make 2 trips again this yr to Twin Falls Lodge. 1st was end of June with a couple friends & the 2nd was 1st week in Aug with my wife & our dog. My friend & guide Barry was on top of his game again this yr. Managed to land a 40.5" pike the 1st morning & it was 3rd caught that morning getting my 7th master angler pin. Randy & Lorraine were back running the place when we were there in Aug., it was great reconnecting with them again. The new lodge is fantastic. Didn't think the food could get any better but chef Evan has knocked it out of the park with all his dishes. Can't wait to get back there in 22. Thanks again Brad Corie & Maggie

Exceeded my expectations
We arrived at the lodge and were greated by, what I describe as, the most picturesque view in Saskatchewan. The lodge is right between two sections of falls separating Otter lake and Mountain lake. The falls have a distant roar that can be subtly heard when walking from cabin to lodge which makes the location seem quite unique. The cabins were very comfortable with plenty of room and warm wood features. The lodge itself overlooks a pristine segment of the body of water it's built on, with a view of the waterfall and sunset. The meals at the lodge were only bested by the fishing. Each day was a new series of meals curated by their talented chef. Along with dishes I had never experienced, this guy was taking meals I am familiar with and making them so much better than I had ever experienced them. The fishing was fantastic, as expected. We stopped counting at 100 on day 1. What I enjoyed was the different spots we fished at. From rock shelves to shallows to flowing channels and falls. We got it all. 10/10 would go again.

Boundless Generosity and Northern Hospitality!
Our grizzled, sun-beaten, wind-blown group of 4 was paddling through the falls area and stumbled upon the lodge on our way to the nearby portage. Ed, the lodge manager, graciously offered us a cup of coffee and we stuck around for a game of crib and got to meet some of the local fauna. The perks didn't end there! Fishing guides Phil and Barry helped us move our barrels and dry bags over the portage and let us in on some expert fishing tricks and tips. We carried our own boats, so the portage still counts haha - thanks guys!! Lodge owners Jim and his son Greg offered up some great local knowledge and shared their catch of Walleye with us - we fried it up at camp and we swear it's the best and most buttery fish we've ever had. Ed sent us on our way with some luxury "provisions" for the last leg of our trip and we paddled into the afternoon with full hearts and deep gratitude. If you're looking for a top-notch local guide, we cannot recommend Barry enough, and we can testify that the folks behind Twin Falls Lodge are immeasurably kind, thoughtful, and passionate about the Churchill and the experiences they can offer to visitors. We hope to come back one day! Best wishes - from Kate, Kels, Andi and Annie :)

Fantastic Lodge within a beautiful setting
Spent a few days fishing at Twin Falls Lodge in Early August. The Lodge and setting is amazingly beautiful and with the sound of the odd Loon and the relaxing hum of the falls. The cabins are very nice and comfortable and the lodge (soon to be replaced) is full of history and is a great way to sit and visit with the staff and other guests. The guide we had (Rodney) was fantastic and looked after us every day on the water. As well, he cooked a pretty awesome shore lunch for us both days. The food they serve at the lodge is amazing....you will never go hungry.....and it is soooo tasty, i looked forward to every single meal. The highlight of the trip, for me, was the quality of staff running the lodge, exceptionally nice people that i could have talked with for hours on end. Randy, Lorraine and Ed looked after us from top to bottom and gave us everything we needed. They made our trip one we will never forget....just fantastic folks. We will definitely be back to Twin Falls Lodge...already looking forward to it.

Great Fishing, Great Accomodations and Great Hosts!
What a great trip for my Dad and myself! Randy and Lorraine were excellent in providing everything we needed. My Dad just turned 81 and has serious mobility issues. Randy and Ed rigged up a chair on the dolly and were able to winch him up and down the hill daily, the flight of stairs was not an option for my Dad. From there he was trailered by a quad to the cabins which were brand new with a bathroom and running water. Our guide Barry always made sure my Dad was his #1 priority from baiting his hook to landing his fish, cooking the shore lunch and helping him in and out of the boat. This was done from a pontoon boat which made it easy to get on and off. Lorraine always had a chair by the fire to warm my Dad and always great food served. And of course the fishing was great! We are already planning for next year!

Simply Amazing
I do not have enough good things to say about Randy and our stay at Twin Falls lodge. First of all Randy was very accommodating and a gracious host. We had a late arrival and an early morning departure times that he worked around. Every one of our needs were met including comfortable rooms, beds, delicious meals and friendly conversation. What set them up and above the other fishing lodges we have stayed at was the little things like starting the day with coffee being hand delivered to our rooms. The setting of where the lodge is located could not get better if you tried. It is set in a pool of water between two sets of waterfalls. You literally fall asleep at night to the sound of water rushing down the falls. The fishing was amazing. We were fishing for Walleye in the morning and Pike in the afternoon. Our guide, Barry was the best and I would highly recommend him for anyone that wants to catch a lot of fish. He grew up on the lake and knew all the hot spots to go to. Barry was also an amazing cook, serving up our shore lunches. On our first day I caught a 39.5" pike. If you get a chance to portage up to one of the smaller lakes, take advantage of it. We spent the next two days fishing the main body of water in the morning and then portaged up to the smaller lakes in the afternoon. I even caught a 23" Walleye on my last day to qualify for a Master Angler award. We go on a big fishing trip to a different lodge every year and I would highly recommend Twin Falls for your next fishing destination. Joe Cooper

Not only did we get to see these beautiful falls but Randy made all the arrangements, found us an amazing guide, Kevin! He was so knowledgeable of the area answered all our questions had personal stories and history of the area. Randy arranged for us to see so much more than we had asked for, Stanley Mission Church, rock paintings and sooo much more. We spent the last 2 nights (Aug 21-22, 2018) of our 6-day canoe trip at Twin Falls Lodge, what a hidden gem in the remote water world of northern Saskatchewan, beautiful location. What a treat! Comfortable, clean cabins with showers, wifi, great hospitality and knowledge of the area by Lorraine & Randy, delicious meals by Lorraine (including the most delicious desserts - carrot cake & lemon-coconut cheesecake), great tasting beer (Churchill Brewing), interesting stories from Randy about his career in Fisheries, & fresh coffee every morning and afternoon. I can't say enough good things about Lorraine and Randy. They made us feel very welcome and accommodated us above and beyond the call of duty. They also let us know about Saskatchewan's thrashing of the Calgary Stampeders (40-27) - how cool is that!! We even had time to hike the trails around the area, a nice break from all the sitting in our canoes.

Great Fishing Trip
Just got back from a 2 day/3 night fishing trip with my brother at Twin Falls Lodge. When you stay at the lodge, it's more like staying with life-long friends as Randy and Lorraine make you feel so welcome and they are so accommodating and are very gracious hosts. The cabins are comfortable and clean, with fresh towels supplied every day and beds made. The lodge is situated in a beautiful location. The meals are delicious. When I complemented Diane, their cook, on the meals, she humbly said that she's no chef, just a gramma. Well this gramma can definitely cook. The steak dinner was fabulous, so tasty. I've had a steak from a well-known chef at a restaurant that she would put to shame. The home-made pies are so good; crusts just melt in your mouth. After supper, you can just relax in your cabin, sit on the lodge deck or your own private deck or visit with the hosts if they aren't swamped with guests or visit with any of the other guests. There is even a big screen TV in the lodge that you can watch. Everything is low key and the place is so peaceful. Can't forget about the guides. Our guide was Robin and we sure appreciated his expertise and knowledge of where to fish and even helped out my brother with a much better rod and reel as he could see the 30 year old rod he had brought with him just wasn't getting the job done. The shore lunches were also delicious. Thank you to all involved for a great stay. Would highly recommend it. Hope to return some day.

Amazing impromptu hospitality
Our group of 8 paddlers got caught in a storm near Twin Falls Lodge. With a second thunderstorm on the way and one damaged canoe and one damaged tent we decided to seek shelter at the Lodge. We had tea and beer and great conversation and practical help - including super strong duct tape! The pancakes the next morning were delicious and the casual warm "family" feel was exactly what we needed. In addition the views from the Lodge and off the cabin deck were amazing and the room was lovely. We are recommending them to everyone we know who likes to canoe. Fishing at Twin Falls Lodge
Our fishing group of 8 people went to Twin Falls for the first time, the first week of June. I can say that this was a first class experience in all aspects. Our hosts were Lorraine and Randy, and they run a tight ship. The cabins were large, warm, clean, with comfy beds and a great hot shower. Coffee was delivered each morning at 6:45am, to start our day. When we returned, there were fresh, clean towels, the beds were made and the cabin cleaned. The main lodge was comfortable, with a wide screen TV, WiFi, and a well functioning wood stove. The cooking, by Diane, was superb, with a hearty breakfast, shore lunch and a big filling dinner. The guides were fantastic! They knew when and where to fish, including diversions to other lakes, with an easy portage and amazing fishing. Our group caught 4 Pike over 40 inches, and Walleye, too numerous to count. We have already signed up for next year. I give an unqualified positive recommendation to Twin Falls.

Amazing people, cabin, lodge, food, and experience!
I was on day 5 of a 8 day solo canoe trip starting and ending in Missinipe. After making several bad decisions, bad weather, bad health, and a bear encounter (a positive, yet still frightening) i was a bit sketched out. I was underprepared in my physical fitness, and actual use of new to me gear. I showed up visibly shaken at noon in their busy season. Randy greated me with a big smile and I was very lucky that they had a cabin available! He listened to my story after we figured out the details and was as happy as I was that there was space for me. After a bite to eat, a couple of nice cold beers, a solid 4 hour nap, and a much needed shower was an amazing supper prepared by Dianne of fried chicken! I talked with Randy and Lorraine as much as they had time to chat. It was a wonderful experience and I hope to make it part of my annual trip! I remember as a teen canoeing and portaging around the lodge, when it was known as Beyond la Ronge with different owners who weren't much interested in stinky canoers coming through. What a change! If you're paddling through make sure to stop in for coffee and a chat! They truly are wonderful people! I'm so glad I picked up Randy's book as I had a rain day after leaving before paddling back to Missinipe. Such a great book! Stay if you can, and if not stop in at the very least!

Fly-in Fishing Trip — Twin Falls Lodge Saskatchewan
Saskatchewan's Churchill River has a reputation for some of the best walleye and northern pike fishing in Canada. We confirmed the river's fame during our fly-in fishing vacation at Twin Falls Lodge (formerly Beyond La Ronge Lodge). Stopping our boat between the tumbling Twin Falls, our guide, Ron Cojocar cast his line toward the rushing water and immediately pulled it back in with a feisty five-pound northern pike attached. It was obvious that guests come to fly-in fishing lodges for more than walleye and northern pike fishing. Ron Cojocar says it best: 'They come for the tranquility of Saskatchewan's Churchill River. They come to bring their blood pressure down.' Laura Hale is now manager of Twin Falls Lodge.
