About This Outpost

Newly constructed in 2001, the South camp is big, impressive and well thought out. From the 15-foot cathedral ceilings to the stand-up bar, it was designed with the big group in mind. Features two oversized chest freezers, two refrigerators, two futons, two six-foot dining tables, solar lights, solar water system, screened-in porch, and a screened-in fish cleaning house with stainless steel sink and running water. Called 'The Fishing Factory.'

Reviews & Reputation

Summarized Review Highlights

Ogoki Frontier, and specifically its Chipchase Lake outpost, has earned strong praise from guests who have actually stayed there. Verified guests report exceptional fishing with catches that exceeded their expectations, well-maintained and reliable boats and motors, and a high-quality cabin described as first-class. The natural setting also left a strong impression, with guests noting wildlife encounters and northern lights as memorable highlights of their trip.

The only negative feedback in the available reviews comes from a prospective visitor who stopped in without a booking and felt the staff were unwelcoming and uninterested in speaking with them. This person did not fish or stay at the outfitter, so their review does not reflect the guest experience itself. That said, it may be worth noting that Ogoki Frontier could come across as less approachable to walk-in visitors or those still in the early comparison-shopping stage.

Based on the available reviews, Ogoki Frontier's Chipchase Lake outpost appears best suited for small groups of anglers looking for a remote fly-in outpost experience with solid fishing, comfortable accommodations, and reliable equipment. Those who value wilderness scenery alongside their fishing will likely find it a good fit. Prospective guests who prefer a more hands-on sales or tour experience before committing may want to reach out in advance to set expectations.
