Summarized Review Highlights
Kississing Lake Lodge & Outposts has built a strong overall reputation among fly-in fishing guests, with the large majority of reviewers awarding top marks and many returning for multiple visits — some logging more than ten trips over the years. The lodge is frequently described as delivering on what it promises, and repeat guests consistently note that the experience holds up or improves over time. The 2025 wildfire season in northern Manitoba created a painful exception, with several guests reporting cancelled trips and unresolved deposit disputes that generated genuine frustration and a handful of one-star reviews. Those reviews describe difficulty reaching ownership, inconsistent communication, and refusal to return deposits for a cancellation that was outside guests' control — a pattern worth noting for anyone booking and paying a large deposit in advance.
Among guests who made it to the lodge or outposts, praise is remarkably consistent. Fishing for northern pike, walleye, and lake trout is the headline attraction, with guests regularly reporting high catch counts, trophy-sized fish, and guided fly-out days to remote lakes that are often called the highlight of the trip. Guides receive frequent individual praise for local knowledge, fish-finding ability, and shore lunches prepared streamside. The main lodge earns strong marks for food quality — hearty breakfasts, gourmet-style dinners, and fresh-catch shore lunches — clean and comfortable cabins, attentive housekeeping, and a warm, family-like staff culture. Outpost experiences are more rustic by nature, and most guests accept that trade-off willingly. However, one outpost review described a cabin in seriously poor condition — unclean, poorly maintained equipment, leaking boats, and unsafe fuel situations — suggesting that outpost quality may not be uniform across all properties or seasons.
A smaller number of non-fire-related complaints point to occasional guide quality issues: a few guests described guides who were uncommunicative, unmotivated, or functionally acted as boat drivers rather than fishing guides. One review mentioned a serious boating accident resulting in injuries, though this appears to be an isolated incident. Fishing equipment provided by the lodge was criticized as low-grade in at least one review. Shore lunches were called heavy and oily by one guest. Dinner quality at the main lodge drew mixed feedback in a handful of reviews, with some calling it gourmet and others describing uninspired meals. Overall, Kississing Lake Lodge suits groups of male friends, multi-generational family trips, and returning anglers chasing trophy pike and walleye in genuine Canadian wilderness. It works well for first-time fly-in guests who want a guided, full-service experience, and also accommodates self-guided outpost stays for more experienced anglers comfortable with remote, rustic conditions.

GREAT TIME ONCE AGAIN!!
This was my second trip to Kississing and again it did not disappoint! Our group consisted of my two sons and cousin whom I've fished with since we were kids. Again, no one was disappointed. We snagged several trophy's including a 28 1/2 inch Walleye and two over 41 inch Northern. The staff and guides are exceptional not to mention the food.

Great Canada fishing experience
Had a wonderful time at Kississing Lake Lodge. You don't fish there, you catch. The northern were biting well when we were there. Unfortunately the lake trout were not although a different party caught a 36 incher. I caught a 40.5 in northern and he put up quite a fight. My guide was full of local information and a wonderful cook for shore lunch. Food was very good and more than I could eat. Cabin was comfortable, clean, and the beds had the right amount of firmness. Staff were very friendly and personable. Pilots were friendly and conscious of safety.

Tiny planes and Monster Pike mayhem
Kississing exceeded expectations. Both in numbers and size of Pike. I have travelled and fished many places in North America and Central America with lures on my own. This place is the best. Our guide (Kevin) was really knowledgeable and even found some true topwater Pike opportunities and got me into a few topwater takes. Our first two days were the tail end of a cold front and we still found dozens of aggressive Pike - all in less than 6 feet of water. The staff is incredibly organized and attentive. The food was perfect. The Bears, baby bears !, White Pelicans, Beavers, cormorants and many Bald Eagles made this the trip of a lifetime.

Awesome fishing trip to northern Manitoba!
This lodge has almost everything you want in a northern Manitoba camp, good walleye, pike and lake trout fishing. Staff at the lodge are super people and so friendly. Our guide, Kevin put us on the fish every day including some big northerns with biggest a master angler. The fly out to the lake trout lake was unbelievable. Great place to go.

From the Outposts to the Lodge – 2025
My husband, Terry, and I first visited a Kississing Lake Lodge Outpost in 2014, and other than the two COVID years, we haven't missed a season since. In 2025, we decided to treat ourselves to a week at Kississing Lake Lodge — and we were not disappointed. We had an excellent week of fishing and can't say enough about the incredible food and customer service. Alannah runs an excellent camp. The servers — Autumn, Eira, Maddie, and Sylvia — were friendly, efficient, and took care of our every need. The food was excellent, and the dock staff could not have been more pleasant or helpful. On the third day, Terry caught a 42-inch northern pike, and on the fourth day, I caught a 43-inch pike. Every trip we've taken with Kississing Lake Lodge and their outposts has been excellent. Everything they advertise is true: professional service, friendly staff, and lots of fish. We can't wait for the 2026 season.

Incredible place, amazing fishing
My trip here was an amazing once-in-a-lifetime experience. I visited in June with my family and I could not recommend this fishing lodge enough. The fishing itself was easily the best that I have experienced in my life. The guides were both very friendly and knowledgeable and there were many times when we had near-constant action, pulling in one big fish after the other. The lake itself and the scenery were also beautiful. I caught a trophy northern pike early on in the trip and had so many other noteworthy catches. The food was also top-notch. The shore lunches were amazing and the food in the lodge was also a surprising highlight. Every single meal was great! The cabin was cozy, very clean and the beds were super comfortable. Essentially every aspect of this place was a dream and I can't wait to come back!

Not what I expected!!!!
Great lodge!! great food!!! Shore lunches are very oily and heavy for a long afternoon of bouncing around in the boat. Catching fish? was none the less impressed by the fish we caught in both the amount and the size. Yes I do understand that you have no control of if the fish are biting or not but when there are 2 other boats that are catching 42"-45" pike and a large amount of walleye that tells me something. Either the guide doesn't know where to go or you pay for what you get. Now in saying that I bought our trip on an auction and paid a fraction of what a full price trip would be. Lets say for the 2 of us, the fish we caught was about $160/fish and we didn't even bring any home. Asked the guide one morning to go trout fishing. So off we go.... bought some overpriced hooks from the lodge and went out. Jigged for maybe an hour in total with no bite and when ready to go the guide goes to us 'I hate fishing for trout!!!'. Off we go clear across to the other side of the lake in rough water to catch? yup you guessed it NOTHING. We didn't even fish the 4th day as we just ordered a float plane to get us out. When we left the only people that said good bye or thanks for coming were the 2 dock hands. Very disappointed with the trip.

Trip of a lifetime!
Our stay at this fishing lodge was unforgettable. The hospitality and warmth from the staff made us feel right at home, and the food was incredible with delicious home-cooked meals every day. The cabins were super comfy and spotless, making it easy to relax. The fishing was phenomenal. Within the first five minutes, one of our group caught a master lake trout, and the shore lunches were a highlight, cooking up the day's catch right by the water. We also saw amazing wildlife, from bears to caribou and moose, adding to the adventure. With float planes taking us into the stunning Canadian north, it truly was the trip of a lifetime. Highly recommend for anyone seeking a memorable fishing experience!

As good as it gets in Canada
We had an awesome experience! It's really the company culture that creates such a great experience in such a wonderful and beautiful place in Canada. The pilots, dock hands, guides, lodge staff, etc work hard at maintaining that 'Canadian Hospitality', always with a smile. We really felt like we were part of their family. Truly a five star experience in every way, including the fishing!!!

Great trip in a beautiful place
The accommodations for a remote fishing camp were excellent. The cabins were clean and well maintained. The common areas again were very clean, attractive, and functional. The staff could not have been friendlier, which led to a really fun family type atmosphere. The food was good, certainly not great. Our 4 dinners consisted of spaghetti, pork loin, lasagne, and rib eye steak. The steak was about 1/2" thick covered in mushroom gravy. The lasagne was excellent. The guides were excellent fisherman, but often lacked people skills. We caught lots of big fish. Overall a wonderful experience in stunningly beautiful part of the world.

My Kississing Adventure. 2024
The staff was accommodating and friendly. The food beyond compare. The weather was amenable to catching fish and we did! Half of our six day entourage ended up as 'Master Anglers'. Boats, motors and fishing gear were top notch and the selection of lures produced fish daily. Only one morning was shore lunch in jeopardy but the eleven inch perch and a couple keeper walleyes met their fate just in time for lunch.

Nonstop fishing action.
Northern Pike fishing was outstanding as were our awesome guides Dennis and Landon. Along with my son and two grandsons we caught over 300 fish in four days with each grandson landing a trophy size pike of 41+". The shore lunches were also delicious and expertly prepared by our guides. This is an adventure we will remember for a lifetime!

A remarkable experience all around
Kississing Lake Lodge is a remarkable experience. From the moment you start loading the float plane until they drop you off back at the airport, the staff is superb - friendly, competent, going above and beyond. The food is to die for - hearty breakfast and gourmet style dinners. The guides are indeed 'legendary' and prepare a delicious shore lunch in addition to putting you on fish. It's beautiful country. You'll see pelicans, eagles, seagulls, most likely even a bear. The accommodations are great and each day the staff make beds and straighten up the living room area. You even get coffee and a wake-up call each morning at 6:30. This one truly is a 'five star experience.'

OUR FATHER AND SON BUCKET LIST TRIP. "AMAZING"
From the minute we landed we were greeted by the lovely Alana. I will start our review by saying that 'nothing' is too much trouble for the management and staff. The fishing is exactly how it's described by the lodge. The food from breakfast to dinner is also great. I've been fishing all my life but never to the degree of our 4 day trip. My son Adam and myself had discussed this bucket list 'FATHER AND SON' trip for years. The fishing was beyond our expectations but bonding with my Son was even bigger. Our wonderful guide Johny was amazing and nothing was too much trouble for him. He is very knowledgeable as he lives at the Lake and if the fishing slowed even for a few minutes he would say 'ok guys let's try a move'. Lunch was amazing with all the guides meeting up on an Island where they put their gas stoves and pans and cooked both the Pickerel (Walleye) and the Pike. We did an extra fly out to a lake nobody hardly ever fished. It was worth the extra cost to spend a day on this lake and I kid you not both Adam and myself caught 200 walleye on that day. We loved this trip so much we have just rebooked it for next June.

My family and friends – six visits over 12 years
My family and friends and I have been guests at Kississing Lake Lodge several times before...we think it is six visits over about 12 years now. My son and I were there last June (and we're coming back June of 2019) and had an absolutely wonderful experience again. We caught tons of Northern and Walleye every day and the first fish my son caught on our first day out was a 28lb Laker. The cabins, the lodge, the service, the meals, and especially the staff and guides are the best in any place we've ever been in the world. Truly a world class fishing experience to enjoy.

Best time ever
My second visit was better than the first. Every one is genuinely glad to see you and they love to pamper you. This was my second time to go to Kississing Lake Lodge and even though I didn't have the same guide as last time; the feeling was like fishing with an old fishing buddy. All the staff was so kind and helpful; they just made you feel like kin folk they missed and hadn't seen in a long time. If your looking for a great time and great fishing 'Kississing Lake Lodge' is the place to go! I caught a 36" Pike and lots more. Terry Hardy McLoud Oklahoma.

Fishing adventure of a lifetime!
Myself, my father and my son were at the lodge from May 24-29th. It was an outstanding trip! Over 4 days of fishing, we caught approximately 200 fish. I would estimate 150 Northern Pike (biggest was 38 1/2", trophy size is 41" and up), 48 Walleye (biggest was 23", trophy size is 28"), and 2 Lake Trout (biggest was 36", trophy size is 36"+). The amenities were also outstanding. The cabins were clean, updated, and roomy. The service was exceptional (5 Star). The fishing guides were very knowledgeable of the lake, however, they were more like 'lake guides' than 'fishing guides.' They have certain places on the lake where they know they have caught fish in the past, so those are the spots they take their guests. They are not necessarily great fishermen. But overall the food was good and service exceptional.

12th visit – keeps getting better
This was our 12th visit to this outstanding lodge. We love everything about the experience and it keeps getting better. Two great improvements this year involved getting there: they've significantly shortened the van ride from the Winnipeg air terminal to their Wings Over Kississing base, and eliminated a longer van ride in Flin Flon by landing on an airstrip right at the float plane base. Fishing was excellent, and our guides were lots of fun. They certainly know the lake; if we have 10 minutes without a bite, they'll suggest another spot. Most days we had 50-60 fish in the boat, and two days we caught over 90. Staff at the lodge are extremely friendly and customer-focused. Food is great (both shore lunches (fresh-caught fish) and dinners (no fish)). All cabins are simple, rustic, and comfortable.

Best fishing trip ever? No.
They know the way around the lake, and can get you back and forth from the lodge, but expect NOTHING else. We rigged our own rods, contemplated our own lures, and when we asked for advice, we were grunted at and looked at strangely by our guide who probably said a total of 15 words in 6 days. The fishing equipment provided by the lodge was a joke. AND they clipped you for a Hundred bucks a week for each rod used. Pflugger President Rod/Reel Combo as sold at Walmart for $49 bucks....pathetic. Dinner was an adventure. NOT in a good way. Crap Spaghetti one night, rubber chicken the next, and the highlight was a chunk of sirloin they called a 'steak' that chewed like jerky. The trip home from Flin Flon to Winnipeg consisted of a 3 hour wait at a Hanger. A great Pike and Walleye lake, but nothing special here folks.

Great Canadian Fly-In Fishing Lodge - Gotch'a Covered
I have stayed at Kississing's Main Lodge on at least 5 or 6 occasions, in addition, I have stayed at another five different Outpost Cabins that are owned by Kississing. Every time I have stayed with Curt, I have never been disappointed with the level of Customer Service and Detail that Kississing has to offer. Curt and his staff go out of their way to satisfy most every request. The boats & motors are top notch and are replaced on a regular basis. The guides do a terrific job with fishing, shore lunches and finding out where the fishing is best. The food & accommodations at the Main Lodge are excellent. They even had a pastry chef on my last few trips. Another nice touch at the Main Lodge is that they deliver a steaming pot of coffee to every cabin to wake you up in the morning before breakfast. The Main Lodge is very nice with an 'Honor Bar' for evening cocktails with great snacks. The Outposts are very adequate but rustic and clean. As far as groceries, Curt will send you a shopping list early, so he can have your supplies waiting at the dock when you fly into the outpost.

Great Lodge, Poor Fishing, Worse Guides and no management.
We crashed into a small rock island at full speed. I broke a finger on my left hand, my nose and a bone in my right elbow and tore the rotator cuff on my left shoulder. We could have been killed. Needless to say this hampered my enjoyment of the remaining fishing days. Avoid this place; it has poor fishing, poor guides, terrible equipment, and no ownership presence or influence at all. I wasted a week and almost got killed.

Outstanding in every way!
Kississing Lake Lodge is outstanding! Outstanding in every way! Staff was friendly, food was great, accommodations were very nice and the fishing was great. Our guide was friendly, helpful and we caught a lot of fish each day. One day we flew to an outpost lake and caught 150 fish, including the largest walleye he'd ever seen. Weather in August was better than expected. Can't wait to return.

Our group of 8 was amazed at how beautiful the lodge was and how friendly and accommodating the staff were. Between the amazing food for breakfast and dinner served in the dining area and the 5-star guides supplied to us, this made for one of the best fly-in fishing trips we have ever gone on.
